Indie studio The Planar Danse is delighted to announce plague doctor paranormal investigator RPG Blight Doctors, set to cast a spell on Steam in Q1 2027. As an occult detective & gravekeeper, get ready banish ghosts, cure plagues, treat with monsters… all in co-op and proximity chat!
As a grave-watcher & occultist, you have come to the plagued & rotten city of Seracheim, which has seen many risen corpses & not a single sunrise in many years. Your own skills as an exorcist will stem the tide of curses that afflict this doomed city, with the hopes of turning the tide against apocalypse, at any cost!
This is a lethal-like dark fantasy co-op occult detective game where deduction and banishment are not done for you. When you discover what sort of spirit haunts this forsaken city, you alone must be the one to abjure it, by any means at your disposal, sinful or sanctified.
Each successive night will see a new set of hand-crafted, but procedurally placed stories and curses fill the city streets. These narrative legos all interact, and can take the shape of plagues, monsters, haunts, & mysteries. Each provides challenges & choices beyond the average friend-slop.
And if you break enough curses, the city might just stand another day!
Key Gameplay Features
- Discover, night-by-night, curses to contend with, afflictions to cute, & horrors of the blight to escape!!
- Diagnose & deduce solutions to curses, hauntings, and ghostial anchors!
- Exorcise spirit & excise the rot within the city, and see every character & building react each night to the changing set of curses and your choices!
- Fight a dynamic clock, not a set time per-night, which progresses as your team antagonizes spirits or fails deductions!
- Expand your abilities & loadout through a skill tree by collecting codex pages between nights!
Blight Doctors is a co-op, proximity chat game at its core, but is balanced for 1-5 players. This is a co-op game where the players play with eachother, not simply adjacent to eachother.
For example:
- Share clues, let the gang split up, or protect eachother with lanternlight and salt lines!
- Perform medicine and make questionable elixirs for eachother!
- Diversify player skillsets in co-op through a player loadout & skill tree!
- When you die… haunt your fellows as a ghost, and continue to collect clues!
- When others die… carry their corpses, for experimentation, or for offering to demons!
Blight Doctors will be released on Windows PC via Steam in Q1 2027.
