Developer BabelGames and publisher Speed Rivals have announced that Speed Rivals – Model Trains will launch for Windows PC via Steam on October 28, 2026.
Speed Rivals – Model Trains combines the creativity of building a miniature railway with fast-paced delivery challenges. Players design their own railway worlds, take control of their trains, collect the required wagons, and deliver cargo to destinations spread across the map.
Finding the fastest route is only part of the challenge. Players must switch tracks, control their speed, and plan each journey carefully. Locomotive type, wagon count, cargo weight, and current speed all affect how safely the train can take a corner. Push too hard, and the whole delivery may end in a derailment.
Build your own railway worlds
The railway editor allows players to create custom layouts using elevations, banked curves, crossings, junctions, and a wide range of track combinations.
Loading facilities, unloading points, and stations give each network a practical purpose. Buildings, vegetation, environments, signs, structures, and decorative objects can then be used to turn every layout into a distinctive miniature world.
Every design decision also affects gameplay. Track placement, junctions, and access to delivery points determine which routes will be available once the trains start moving.
Take on increasingly complex delivery missions
Each run presents players with delivery objectives specifying the required cargo, wagon types, quantities, and destinations.
As missions progress, routes become more demanding, deliveries are spread across multiple locations, and planning becomes as important as driving. Players must decide which cargo to collect first, which junctions to use, and when saving a few seconds is worth the risk of derailing.
Cooperate or compete with friends
Speed Rivals – Model Trains includes single-player gameplay alongside cooperative and competitive split-screen multiplayer.
In cooperative mode, players work together to complete the same mission, coordinating routes, cargo, and timing. Competitive mode challenges players to find the fastest route, outdrive their rivals, and complete deliveries before anyone else.
