Swiss indie game studio GudaGuda Studio has released the free demo for Yokai Mart on Steam.
This single-player, story-driven convenience store simulation game will be available to play during Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October 2026, and is scheduled for full release in Q1 2027.
In the game, players take on the role of Aoi. Aoi helps her dear grandmother with the convenience store in a Tokyo suburb. Don’t be fooled! As she discovers, this is a very special place where otherworldly visitors appear at night. As she helps the customers, they will help her in return on her journey to make friends with the spirits.
The game features five Yokai, creatures from Japanese folklore. You’ll build relationships with the regular customers and the spirits. Let’s delve into these tales together!
The free Yokai Mart demo is now available on Steam in English, German, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and is compatible with Steam Deck. No generative AI was used in the development of the game.
