Independent developers Suversa and Nana of Double H Productions, together with Human Qube Games, released Tape 101: Liminal Descent on PC via Steam.
The psychological horror game leads players through a shifting liminal world where architecture reflects grief, familiar rooms become unsettling, and finding a way forward means learning to read the space around you.
For Suversa and Nana, developers based in Tunisia, launch marks the culmination of three years of work on a deeply personal creative project. Together, they set out to explore grief through horror, building an atmospheric experience around the ways loss can change our perception of familiar things. Suversa handles technical development, while Nana leads art direction and writes the story.
A Small Camera. An Impossible Place.
Beige corridors repeat. Empty offices lead into tiled passageways. Ceilings sit too low, hallways loop back on themselves, and rooms return with details that no longer feel quite right.
Your companion in this unfamiliar world is a small, camera-equipped RC car. Send it beneath doors, through vents, and into spaces you cannot reach yourself. Through its camera, investigate hidden areas, retrieve objects, activate mechanisms, and discover routes deeper into the environment.
Observation and experimentation drive progress. Spatial and timing-based puzzles ask you to pay attention to how rooms connect, what has changed, and what the car can reveal from the other side.
Five Stages of Grief, Written into the World.
Drawing on the Kübler-Ross model – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – Tape 101 gives each chapter an emotional foundation expressed through its spaces, puzzles, and atmosphere.
There are no entities hunting you, but someone is always nearby. Unease builds through repetition, distorted proportions, isolation, and the growing uncertainty of whether the place around you still follows rules you understand.
Following a public Steam playtest and Steam Next Fest demo, the duo continued refining the puzzles, navigation, pacing, and environmental storytelling for full release.
