Independent developer Pixel Hound Game Studio has published the Steam page for Mars Incremental, a short incremental game about terraforming Mars. Build, automate, and deploy drones to harvest power, gas, and water, then watch a quiet, red planet wake into a living world, one horizon at a time. The Steam page is open for wishlists now, a free demo is playable on itch.io, and the full game launches in Q1 2027.
You start with almost nothing: a single spaceship and a planet that does nothing on its own. From there you build a terraforming operation, hand the repetitive work to drones, and reinvest everything they gather into more drones and better technology. Raise the heat, the pressure, and the humidity far enough, and Mars crosses a threshold — and becomes something new. Just follow the instructions: step one, change the entire planet.
Progress isn’t only numbers going up. Terraforming visibly reshapes the surface as you go, new upgrades keep surfacing from corners you weren’t watching, and permanent unlocks carry across every run — so each attempt starts a little further along than the last.
Key Features
- Set up your terraforming operation — Build unique machines like the Data Discovery Dome, the Atmospheric Alchemy Array, and the Colossal Core Conduit, each feeding the next stage of your production chain.
- Let drones do the heavy lifting — Deploy drones to gather resources, then reinvest in more drones. A sustainable growth strategy, technically.
- Warm it up until the planet turns — Raise the heat, the pressure, and the humidity. Cross the threshold and Mars becomes something new.
- Keep unlocking new upgrades — Unlock talents and unique technologies across an ever-growing tree of possibilities.
- An incremental you actually play — Short and active by design: you’re building, steering, and making decisions, not just watching numbers climb while you’re away.
Availability
Mars Incremental is coming to Steam in Q1 2027. A free demo is available now.
