Fortune Avenue, the board game where democracy meets chaos, is leaving Early Access on September 18, 2026. After nearly a year and a half of updates built almost entirely from player feedback, this is the version the game was building toward all along.
What’s New in Version 1.0
The voting system that defines Fortune Avenue has been reworked from the ground up. Rules are no longer picked at random: each one now carries a weight based on how much it can shake up a match, and related rules can chain together instead of being drawn in isolation. If the table doesn’t like what’s on offer, players can now reroll for a new pair of options instead of restarting the match.
The helicopter, Fortune Avenue’s signature “no player suffering” mechanic, has also been rebalanced. It shows up less often, takes three turns to catch the player it’s chasing, and gives up more easily, it can even be switched off entirely for hosts who’d rather build an empire without a chopper on their tail. Custom rules go further than ever, letting hosts set starting cash, salaries, and transport costs before a match even begins.
Under the hood, Windows players get DirectX 12 support, and the physics engine has been swapped for Jolt for noticeably better dice and Wheel of Fortune behaviour. The board count has doubled since launch, and a second, larger board size is now available for longer sessions.

Fortune Avenue leaves Early Access on Steam on September 18, 2026, for Windows and Linux (it also runs well on Steam Deck). Price stays at $6.99, no increase at launch.
