Solo indie developer Jeffrey Nordin is today pleased to announce that a demo for his dark and esoteric first-person puzzle adventure The House Dreams Along With Them is now available to download via Steam.
The demo features the game’s opening, inviting players to cross the threshold and experience three unique puzzle rooms: The Guest Bedroom, The Living Room and The Garage, all of which offer a taste of the otherworldly mysteries that shroud the house, and perhaps other secrets too…
A puzzle game with an emphasis on interactivity and existential horror, The House Dreams Along With Them sees players explore, interact, sleep and dream in a highly enigmatic house; using their intuition and curiosity to uncover the secrets and shape of this strange abode.
Pick up, tap, click, throw, twist, tinker, and intuit puzzle solutions while dreaming in the different rooms of the house. Solving a room inside a dream makes it real in the house.
Inspired by non-violent, atmospheric forebears of the genre, the game taps into the uneasy feeling of being somewhere that you’re not supposed to be, telling a subtle tale of cosmic horror with themes of recursion, metafiction, reality and dreams, identity, and empathy for things that appear monstrous.
Fears of isolation and existential ennui will surface as players delve deeper into the house’s mysteries, with each discovery leading toward the enigmatic “reification of night”.
