Hooded Horse is excited to reveal the latest addition to its portfolio of world-class strategic and tactical games. Rogue Carrier, from developer Wild Fields, is a colony management game with a roguelite twist. Stranded on an unknown world aboard a massive seaborne vessel, players must gather resources, develop production chains, and explore a vast oceanic landscape in search of the truth – before the planet kills them!
Rogue Carrier puts players in charge of an expedition gone wrong. No sooner do they arrive than their mothership is blown out of orbit and players find themselves stuck, in desperate need of supplies, answers, and a new plan. Seek out essential resources to power vital production chains, manage crew morale and needs as the colony evolves, and defend against all manner of alien threats for as long as possible.
Eventually, the carrier will be overwhelmed – whether it’s from giant aquatic monsters or land-based fauna that strikes from afar, the danger will increase as the planet’s response escalates. But this is not the end; the efforts and learnings of one run can be used to make progress in the next. Uncover the mysteries of this oceanic prison across five potential endings and fifty scenario variants as players explore multiple timelines, facing unique challenges and opportunities in each one.
The game is designed with replayability and adaptability in mind, giving players the tools they need to maximize their opportunities. Resources are interchangeable, and space on the carrier is at a premium. Design the most efficient layout, and specialize around what’s available across multiple paths and options.
“As a team, we haven’t worked with a publisher before, and so far our partnership with Hooded Horse has been a marvelous experience,” says Wild Fields CEO Daniel Poludyonny. “They’re a bit of a unicorn in the industry – focused on quality and detail in both the games they publish and their marketing and sales craft, but still just down-to-earth gamers at heart. The amount of support and empathy they’ve shown us has been incredible.”
“We’re honored to have Rogue Carrier as part of the portfolio,” said Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “The combination of building a colony with limited room and exploring a vast oceanic world that’s trying to kill you is really compelling, and I can’t wait to share it with players.”
The game will be localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Rogue Carrier is coming to PC via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. It will also be coming to PC Game Pass day one.
